Ash Wednesday - Prayer after Communion

God of compassion, through your Son Jesus Christ you reconciled your people to yourself. Following his example of prayer and fasting, may we obey you with willing hearts and serve one another in holy love; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Lent is a challenge to the world and to our souls. We are challenged to rethink our ways, turn away from selfishness and turn towards holy love.

2022 FaithWorks
Parish Campaign Begins

As we enter the gates of Holy Lent, FaithWorks challenges us to turn our attention to those who need our help. Parish support of FaithWorks was exceptional in 2021. In 2022 our Churches are beginning to reopen. Hopefully in-person worship and activity will continue to grow throughout the year. I ask you to continue to let FaithWorks be a part of your parish reopening and on-going life, whether your campaign is conducted during Lent, Advent, in conjunction with FaithWorks Sunday (20 November 2022) or at another time. Let FaithWorks be a part of your generosity and trust.

The 2022 FaithWorks Campaign materials were mailed to your parish last week. The packages include posters, brochures, donations cards and a campaign manual. They are designed to help you share the good news of the good work that FaithWork does.  Digital and video materials are also available. (see below)

The materials include a donation card to support the Diocese of Toronto's response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Call to Action #82. It calls for the installation of Residential School Monuments in each provincial capital. The Spirit Garden at Toronto City Hall will be a place for teaching, learning, sharing and healing. FaithWorks Sermon or Presentation

By the Grace of God, parish life will begin to return to something like normal, a new normal, as 2022 progresses. More and more, our worship, programs and activities will be happening in person as well as on-line. In 2021, FaithWorks experienced spectacular participation in our parishes, 93% across the Diocese. I hope that in 2022 your parish FaithWorks activities and results will exceed last years so we can better help our ministry partners continue to offer food and shelter, support and care, direction and opportunity to so many vulnerable people.

A $100,000 Matching Challenge Grant for 2022

A generous donor has offered a $100,000 matching challenge grant for all new and increased donations. That means for every dollar raised over last year’s amount, by an individual or parish, FaithWorks receives an extra dollar. We encourage you to make a special effort this year.
