EASTER DEVOTION

John 20:16, Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him, “Rabbouni!”

We come in grief while it is still dark.
And we find you are already on the loose.

Yes, Jesus is on the loose.

We are confused and begin to weep.
And we find you are already on the loose.
Yes, Jesus is on the loose.

We want to touch you one more time.
And we find you are already on the loose.
Yes, Jesus is on the loose.

We cannot recognize you through our own tears.
And we find you are already on the loose.
Yes, Jesus is on the loose.

We hear our own name and it is your voice that we know.
And you are alive and on the loose.
Yes, Jesus is on the loose.
            Yes, Jesus knows my name.

We see you differently, risen love conquering death.
You are alive and on the loose.

We give thanks, O God for Jesus, our risen Christ.  Christ is risen indeed.
We look for you and find you are already on the loose.
Jesus, you are already on the loose and you know our names!
            Alleluia! Alleluia!
