Ash Wednesday
Drive by for Ashes
Our pastoral team will be outside the church on Douglas Ave. from noon - 1 p.m. and from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17 to offer ashes to anyone who drives past. Wearing a mask and gloves, one of the pastors will mark a sign of the cross on the back of your hand. We ask that you wear a mask and remain in your vehicle.

Worship at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom
Our Ash Wednesday service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Zoom. Pastor Brian Paulson will offer a meditation on “Finding Your Heart” as we share in this important launch of our spiritual journey. Look for the Zoom link and more details in our Parish Life newsletter next week.
Lenten Bible Study

Savior: What the Bible Says About the Cross
The cross is the central symbol of the Christian faith. But what exactly did Jesus do to save us from our sins? Why was the cross necessary, and what does it mean for us today?

In Savior: What the Bible Says About the Cross, we'll learn from pastors from our partner FIDE churches and Rev. Magrey deVega about the need for reconciliation between humankind and a holy God through Jesus’ death on the cross.

The Bible uses many images to understand the meaning of Jesus' death and resurrection, and this series guides us through these images to achieve a richer understanding of the Christian faith. By exploring the mystery of salvation through the cross, we can deepen our love for God and others and strengthen our commitment to follow Jesus.

Two different times will be offered each week:
Sundays from 8:30-9:45 a.m. (Feb 21, Feb 28, Mar 7, Mar 14, Mar 21, and Mar 28)
Wednesdays from 7-8:15 p.m. (Feb 24, Mar 3, Mar 10, Mar 17, Mar 24, and Mar 31)

All sessions will be held on Zoom.
Children's Ministry

Here are some ways parents and children can get into the spirit of Lent:

  • Sign up for a Family Lent Kit: You'll receive a box of daily "conversation cards" for Lent, weekly family devotions, craft ideas, and rocks to design your own family cairn.
  • Join us on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10 a.m. for rock painting: We'll have Lent Kits ready for pickup at the church between 10 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13. You can just stop by and grab your kit, or stay awhile! We'll have coffee, hot cocoa, snacks, and rock painting stations set up as a way to begin our Lent together.
  • Appear in one of our Lent worship services: We invite you and your family to make a short video (e.g. reading a Call to Worship or a scripture passage) that will appear in one of our online worship services this Lent.
Junior & Senior High Youth

Our Junior and Senior High youth are also focusing on the imagery of cairns for Lent.
