As Pilgrims of Hope, the entire archdiocese of Boston is coming together as one for a 24-hour Eucharistic Adoration from March 28, 7 pm, to March 29, 7 pm. It will take place at the ten designated pilgrim sites of the Archdiocese, including The Missionary Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima.

Join us at Fatima Shrine by registering as an "adorer" for one hour or more during the 24 hours. Also, consider volunteering as a leader of a mystery of the rosary at the designated hours in the program. Contact Fr. Carl Chudy for more information. Download poster here.

Lent Begins March 5, 2025 with Ash Wednesday

Abstinence -- Catholics over 14 are bound to the obligation of abstinence. Abstinence is to be observed on Ash Wednesday (Feb. 22) and on all Fridays of Lent. On days of abstinence, meat may not be used at all.

Fast -- Catholics over 18 and up to the beginning of their 60th year are bound to the obligation of fasting. Ash Wednesday (Feb. 22) and Good Friday (April 7) are the days of fasting. On these days, only one full meal is allowed. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one's needs, but together, they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is prohibited, but liquids, including milk and fruit juices, are allowed.

Regarding other weekdays of Lent, participation in daily Mass and the voluntary observance of fasting is recommended. Commendable, particularly during Lent, is generosity to local, national, and world programs of sharing our abundance, the traditional Lenten Devotions, and all the self-denial summed up in the Christian concept of "mortification."

The Martyrs Wall

If you go to the vigil candle rack in the back of the church, adjacent to the choir/piano area, you will see our new Martyr's Wall. We commemorate the fifteen Xaverian Missionaries who are "martyrs of charity" in the Church. We offer you the opportunity to come to know and to pray with and for these extraordinary men and women missionaries of the Church. You can find out more about that here.

This is an opportunity to start thinking about Spring and the supplies you'll need for your gardens and planting this year. Place your orders here
