Mary Magdalene Church

~Lent 2025~

Mary Magdalene Church is an inclusive church in the

Catholic tradition where people from all faiths and backgrounds are welcome to the Lord's Table. We strive to live the values that

Jesus taught, to honor and respect each individual

and to share the joy of God's unconditional love

in our community and beyond.

This bulletin will be available all season so that you know what to expect, how you can help, and when we will celebrate! Additional information will be added to our weekly bulletins on our website as it becomes available, so check there also!

Mary Magdalene Reads … A Shared Lenten Experience

Join in the community-wide reading of “Saving Jesus from the Church: How to Stop Worshipping Christ and Start Following Jesus”, by Robin Meyers.

“Calling for a radical change in churches by putting the faithful on the path of Jesus and seeing Christianity as compassion, not condemnation.”

Beginning March 10th from 7:00-8:00pm EST, meet on Zoom with other readers to discuss ideas, questions, and inspirations found within the first two sections of the book (Prologue and Chapter 1).

Each Monday we will discuss another two sections, concluding on Holy Monday, April 14th.

Participation in Zoom meetings is optional, but if you are interested in attending the “Mary Magdalene Reads” Zoom follow this link.

Lenten Reflections

"The strategy of Jesus is not centered in taking the right stand on issues, but rather standing in the right place – with the outcast and those relegated to the margins." ~ Fr. Greg Boyle, SJ, Tattoos on the Heart

"Lent is not about penance. Lent is about becoming, doing and changing whatever it is that is blocking the fullness of life in us right now. Lent is a summons to live anew." ~ Joan Chittister, A Summons to Live Anew: Lent 2024

"In times of darkness tend your fire, it will give light until the morning." ~ St. Brigid of Kildare

"We must practice living deeply, loving, and acting with charity if we wish to truly honor Jesus.” ~ Thich Nhat Hanh
