SHARING CHRIST ACROSS FAITHS AND CULTURES
During Lent, in these turbulent times, how can we persevere in our work for justice with a steadfast spirit, rooted in love?
To help us imagine the way in which we are being called to prepare a future that gives hope to all the children of our world, and their children's' children, and to Mother Earth, the Scottish Laity Network invites you to join their Lenten Journey of discernment: Discipleship for Artisans of our own Destiny ~ Preparing the Future... Using poetry as a companion for prayer can be a rich and engaging endeavor. Poetry as an art form uses the cadences of the spoken word, the nuances of language, the signals of punctuation, and the employment of metaphors to invite the listener into participation in the unfolding of
layers of meaning. Words can provide a bridge to experiences that are beyond words. This Lent, we have prepared a Lenten Poetry Companion
which offers an additional resource for your Lenten journey. Learn more.

World Day for Consecrated Life
In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted a day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. The celebration of World Day for Consecrated Life is transferred to the following Sunday in order to highlight the gift of consecrated persons for the whole Church.
World Day for Consecrated Life is celebrated on February 2nd however, it is observed in parishes on the Sunday after February 2nd. In 2021, this day will be celebrated in parishes February 6-7, 2021. Learn more.

Consecrated Dimension of our Life
Cassien Nshimirimana SX
Some days before my final profession of the religious vows, my two brothers and I went on a retreat to deepen our sense of consecration to God. That particular moment allowed me to recount the blessings I have received from God, revisit the circumstances that can draw me away from God, and recenter my life around Christ through the religious consecration in order to love, give, and serve more in my daily mission. In celebrating the World Day of Consecrated Life, I would like to share my experience to stress the importance of the religious vows, their role for human maturity, and their impacts on missionary consecration...Scroll down to the English translation on the page and learn more.

It was lovely to see the place again too and remember happy times. We will all meet again one day if it is God’s will. Until then. God bless everyone.’

A call for ‘vaccine solidarity’ instead of ‘vaccine nationalism’
This time demands a lot of courage. From politicians, from employers, from healthcare providers, and ultimately from all of us. Could we also use this courage to send out a signal that we want things to be different, that we can focus solidarity not only on our immediate families but also on people far away? And that we ask ourselves questions about these political choices, of which again the most vulnerable people on our planet are the biggest victims? Read more.
