Lent and Easter at LVPC

Dear LVPC Family,

As we move toward Lent, we are all too aware of the heaviness many people are carrying. Whether it is in our own lives, in our community, and in the world around us. Lent is a season that does not rush past heartbreak or heaviness, but this season in the Church makes space for truth, lament, and honest prayer. Our shared theme this year invites us into the wilderness, not as a place of abandonment, but as a place where God draws near, where clarity can emerge, and where transformation begins.

Throughout Lent, our church fence will become a "Fence of Heartbreak". Together we will acknowledge that God’s heart breaks for those who are detained, for families separated, and for a world that struggles to love its neighbours. You, and our wider community, are invited to take a piece of cloth, write what is breaking your heart (or God’s), and tie it to the fence as a public prayer and act of solidarity.

This Lent, as a community, we will engage with simple daily practices. Please click here to access the Lenten Practice Calendar. You are encouraged to adapt the practices to your own life and rhythm. If you journal, take photos, or create something in response, we invite you to share parts of that journey with Riley at the church office. Please email her at office@lakeviewpresbyterian.org. We will include photos or reflections in the e-news during Lent!

Lent is a journey that we live together. We do so in reflection, service, and in moments of joy. Below you will find the details of our gatherings and services throughout Lent and Easter.

This Lent, may we tell the truth about what hurts, practice faith together, care for one another, and trust that even in the wilderness, God is already at work.

With gratitude for this community,

Pastor Ashley
