Lent is here! Did you know Lent has its origins as a season of preparation for baptism? That's what I talk about in my "minute homily" this week.
Lent is a season of renewal and it was renewing for me to see so many of you at our Ash Wednesday liturgies. Many of you spoke about wanting to reconnect with your faith and with the Church. Others spoke of missing the sense of community that comes from being able to gather together. While we encourage you to take every necessary precaution to prevent the spread of Covid on campus, that doesn't mean you have to be a dorm-hermit. In my homily for Ash Wednesday, I said my theme for Lent this year is "make a return to the Lord." If it feels like your faith has been a victim of the pandemic, Lent is the perfect time to make a new beginning. Campus Ministry is here to help.
