Centering Prayer

February 10 & March 10 @ 2 PM

Join us for Centering Prayer led by Parishioner Kathryn Kelley on February 10 and March 10 @ 2 PM in the Church Nave.

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of silent prayer which deepens our relationship with God and provides an atmosphere where we can center our attention on God's presence within. It allows us to set aside time to be with God in a group setting, engaging in the prayer of the heart. By sitting relaxed and quiet in faith, we express love to God who dwells in the center of our being. Centering Prayer takes place monthly on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 2 PM.

Wednesday Night Bible Study:

Dwell in the Word

Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7:30 PM in the Parish Hall

Join us on Wednesday evenings for Dwell in the Word, a gentle, drop-in Bible study centered on listening deeply to Scripture together. Each week’s study is self-contained, so you can join at any time.

The Lenten season is a wonderful time to participate and join the discussion. You can drop in and attend whenever you’re able!

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper

February 17 from 5 - 7 PM

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Suppers are a "Feast before the Fast" of Lent. Traditionally, Christian families would use up all the sugar and butter in the house by making pancakes for dinner on the night before Ash Wednesday when Lenten fasting begins.

Join us for a Pancake Supper hosted by St. John's Youth Group, our Special Events Team, and countless volunteers on Feb. 17 from 5PM - 7PM in the Parish Hall. Due to the overwhelming response to this event and to accommodate everyone, we have arranged two dining times: the first from 5 PM to 6 PM, and the second from 6 PM to 7 PM. We kindly ask that after finishing your meal, you allow others a place to sit and enjoy the festivities. We will have a dinner of pancakes, sausage, bacon, and fruit.

IF YOU HAVE AN ELECTRIC GRIDDLE THAT WE CAN BORROW, CONTACT BARB IN THE CHURCH OFFICE BarbaraK@stjohnswf.org.

We are asking for food donations for this event. If you’re able to help, CLICK HERE to sign up!

Ash Wednesday Eucharist with

Imposition of Ashes

Wednesday, Feb. 18 @ 12 Noon & 7 PM

in the Church Sanctuary

The first of the forty days of Lent, named for the custom of placing blessed ashes on the foreheads of worshipers at Ash Wednesday services. The ashes are a sign of repentance, an acceptance of our mortality, and an attitude of humility toward God as we begin the journey of Lent.

A Lenten Quiet Day:

A Time for Reflection and Renewal

We’ll begin our gathering in the Church Sanctuary and then move to the Parish Hall. We hope you can join us for this meaningful time of reflection and connection.
