To seek God, and be Christ’s body in the world
Preparing for Sunday

Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life." -John 4:13-14

REFLECT: Jesus encounters the Samaritan woman at the well. "We don’t know the details of her past. Maybe we don’t need to. Maybe it is enough that she mirrors for us our own lives. We too are people with a past, people with a history. We are all Samaritan women...when he says, 'Give me a drink.' It is the invitation to let herself be known. To be known is to be loved and to be loved is to be known. To be found out, however, without being known leaves us dry and desolate. It leaves us to live a dehydrated life thirsting for something more, something different, but always returning to the same old wells. We all go down to some well ...marriage ...perfectionism ...hiding and isolation ...power and control ...addiction ...busyness and denial ...For too long we have drunk from the well that never satisfies ...There is another well, however. It is the well of Jesus Christ ...It is the well that washes us clean of our past. This is the well from which new life and new possibilities spring forth. It is the well that frees us from the patterns and habits that keep us living as thirsty people."

PRAY: Dear Jesus, please look beyond our past and see us thirsting to be known and loved. Help us to abandon the dry wells that leave us empty. Guide us to the well of living water, the well of Christ's love, so we can experience new life, new possibilities, and the freedom from our past. Amen.

As in years past, the first two weeks of soup deliveries were met with great joy. Thank you to Sherrill Rowland and Pam Faber for their individual contributions and to Pattie Booker, Laura DeWitt, Pam Faber, Bev Reinhardt and Abby Thomas for participating in the group cook. We have delivered 32.5 quarts of 6 different soups. There's still time to sign up to make soup at home or make a financial contribution. Containers are provided and the soup choice is up to you! Contact Pam Faber if you have any questions.
Sunday School
Jesus and the Old Testament

The children and youth continue to look at the teachings of Jesus through the lens of the Old Testament. This week we will be finishing our Lego type building block scenes. Children ages 3 and older are invited to join us in the large Sunday School room at 9:30 AM. Megan will also be available to babysit babies and preschoolers up to age 3. We have Megablocks for that age group so everyone can start working on Bible scenes! Please contact Ms. Deb if you have questions or would like to participate.
Lent 2020
The second night of the Lenten Series focused on relationships. Our guest speaker was Charlie Miller, and he shared his faith journey where relationships led him not only between careers but to different continents! After dinner, he then facilitated a conversation where we shared our responses to Jesus' question, "Who do you say I am?" It was wonderful to hear from others, who we know through worship, and see how we approach the question from a variety of angles. Our understanding of each other grew as a result of the evening. Thanks to all who participated to make it successful.

Search Committee
Shared Rector Search Update

Following visits to the candidates’ current parishes, the Search Committee has identified two final candidates for the Shared Rector position. We are now scheduling separate dates for these two candidates to visit our parishes and meet with our Vestries. It is important to keep in mind that while our committee has focused on finding the candidate that fits our needs, these visits will be just as much about helping the candidates decide if we are right for them. Following the visits, the Search Committee will choose one candidate to present to the Vestries for approval. Our goal is to present that single candidate before Easter. Please keep us in your prayers as we have an important decision ahead of us.
