Opportunities for Reflection
Lent and Easter 2018 at Christ Church
As a Lenten and Easter practices, Episcopalians around the world are invited to read the Gospel According Luke during Lent, and The Acts of the Apostles in Eastertide (See: Presiding Bishop Curry video: Invitation to the Good Book Club). (check out the video below) Reading and reflecting on the scriptures is a great way to unplug and nurture your heart, soul, and mind.
The National Episcopal Church, the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, and Christ Church offer the following options to support you in this practice.
The Good Book Club
The Rev. Emily Guthrie will be hosting a weekly weekday Bible study on Wednesdays, 11:30 -12:30pm in the library, beginning Feb 21. Sign up: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jim Kennedy will be hosting a weekly evening Bible study on Thursdays at 7:00 pm starting 2/15/18. Contact Jim at: email@example.com
These Bible studies will use the Good Book Club curriculum as their starting point. The curriculum is available at www.goodbookclub.org. If you need a copy and can't download, please contact the office. If you are not able to join one of these groups, you are invited to start your own or use the curriculum on your own!
