“For you yourself created my most inmost parts;
You knit me together in the womb.
I will thank you because I am marvelously made;
Your works are wonderful, and I know it well “ psalm 139vv 12, 13
Isabella Hope …
Two and a half years ago, one of my dearest friends called me distraught. Her daughter,
expecting her first baby and my friend’s first grandchild, had just shared the results of the 20 week scan.
Sadly, the baby girl’s brain was forming on the outside of the skull. The couple had been
counseled to seriously consider termination. It is very easy to have a view on these things until they are real. After many days of deliberations, the family decided to continue the pregnancy and allow God to determine the outcome.
Their daughter, named Isabella Hope, was delivered by cesarean in September and was not expected to live for long.
Two and a half years on, Isabella is thriving. She is lively, cheerful and although blind and
delayed developmentally - she has brought such joy to the family.
Her capabilities are so much greater than even her doctors dared to hope.
Already she is a miracle of hope and love beyond anyone’s imagining, and brings such joy to all that encounter her infectious chuckle.
