WONDERING...
Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
|
|
|
Why doesn't the Bible just tell me what to do? One of the things I appreciate about Jesus' teaching is that it is full of space. It is a LIVING word that is dynamic allowing it to speak across the millennia to us. The parables (like the ones we'll hear this week) are as relevant as when they were spoken. Other scriptures, like those that invite us to leave everything and follow or to wash feet are very direct, but very hard (or unappealing) for us to do. Jesus doesn't give up on inviting us...the steps are for us to follow.

In-person Sunday worship is back!
We are welcoming up to 30 people for our 9:00 am Sunday worship service! Pre-registration is not required but, masks, health self-certification, and physical distancing are still required. Please arrive for worship by 8:55 am.

Are you lost? Seems like a pretty obvious question until you consider that it's a matter of orientation. Some people may very well consider you lost (metaphorically speaking), when you know perfectly well where you are. People can be lost to us in any number of ways, even if they are sitting in front of us. We started this Lent with an orientation toward the cross, and the saving work that would be completed there. If you have lost your focus, you can find it again now.
Mighty God, we are so easily distracted from the path to the cross. Jesus never loses sight of the cross, or us. Help us to follow. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Notes from the GLC Community

Thank you for the prayer shawl! That is the sweetest thing!! One of the hardest parts of COVID is hurting and not being able to hug. This might sound goofy, but I imagine getting lots of good mom, aunt, and grandma hugs when I wear it. Warms my heart and takes me home.
Thank you for that!
Chrissy Gibson (Joyce Elliott's cousin)

It's not easy to play a game of charades on Zoom, but our Confirmation students laughed their way through it and had a great time. Also, can you spot the dog and and the gecko at confirmation?
|
|
Send your pictures of how you are living your #generouslifeinChrist to Margo. Thank you!
