I was diagnosed with asthma at a young age. I still remember one night vividly, after a long, active day, my chest suddenly tightened, and I struggled to breathe. Thankfully, my parents rushed me to the hospital, where I received immediate treatment. That moment left a lasting impression on me.
From then on, I made it a priority to strengthen my lungs and improve my overall health. Ironically, or perhaps serendipitously, I discovered a deep passion for track and field. I've always been driven to push my limits, and I refused to let asthma define or restrict me.
Throughout high school, I trained with discipline and determination. My efforts paid off during my senior year when I became the first boy in several years from my school to qualify for the state championships in the long jump. Reaching that milestone was the result of years of perseverance and hard work, a reminder that obstacles can be overcome with the right mindset and commitment.
