The Who Behind the How: Meet the Wildlands Community!
Since 2000, volunteer Ron Horiszny has been a regular face on and along the Lehigh River, where he’s so passionately gifted his time and talent to support Wildlands’ award-winning Bike & Boat Adventures program. Ron has helped thousands of families, individuals and school children experience the history and ecology of our mighty Lehigh!
He says he’s long supported Wildlands because, “The organization’s quality-of-place mission to preserve space in and for the environment - its flora, fauna, and people - is admirable and vitally needed. Plus, the Wildlands personnel and volunteers who teach about and help others experience the outdoors, are some of the most dedicated and delightful people I've ever known.”

Check out this volunteer spotlight of Ron in action from ASR Media and The PEAK TV.

And, join us in thanking him for his selfless service, and let’s give him a great big river-happy send off, as he officially retires from this chapter of life.
Join Wildlands' community of giving by making your donation today. Since 1973, we've worked to make our shared Lehigh River watershed a better place through our mission of conservation and education, with the help of people like YOU!

Get Out For Wellness Goes Online
Wildlands and Lehigh Valley Health Network are proud to present the popular Get Out For Wellness series... virtually!

Join our educators to learn about some of the amazing natural areas in and around our watershed. Then, head out and explore on your own!
This week, Wildlands Director of Education Programs, Diane Motel, features the Cherry Valley Wildlife Refuge: an expansive swath of land along the Kittatinny Ridge, a portion of which Wildlands helped to protect in 2016!
Another Wildlands Creature Feature
Wildlands loves to celebrate all the living things that make our watershed so special, no matter how slimy or strange! So when a Promethea Silk Moth fluttered by, we could help but share!

Like and follow our Facebook page for a video clip of this saturniid moth and to get the latest on the fun, funky, beautiful and unique living things that call nature nearby their home!
Tips for the Trails!
The weather is warming, the green has been restored to the trees and schools are telling students to close their books for summer- that must mean it is time to hit the trails!

For some tips on making the most of your outdoor adventures, watch this video made with help from partners St. Luke's and ASR Media Productions!
