Somewhere along, the pandemic has played chaos with our emotions. Start the journey towards your emotional and mental well-being and benefit from the myriad advantages that art provides.
Let’s Art About It – Art Therapy for Seniors (55+) is a group therapy program that utilizes art-making to help seniors combat mental and emotional challenges as a result of the pandemic.

Sign up for these free virtual sessions. Led by a Registered Canadian Art Therapist, participants will express, explore, and understand their emotions through a variety of art exercises and mediums.

We are looking for local visual, performing and literary artists to showcase their art at Markham Art Council’s largest annual event - the Arts and Cultural Heritage Celebrations.

If you're a local visual, performing, or literary artist and would like to showcase your work at ACHC 2021, email us at info@markhamartscouncil.com with a short bio and sample of previous work(s).

Participating artists will be compensated for their contributions.

Markham Arts Council is back with its third season of Artist Unplugged. And we are currently looking for musicians in York Region who would like to be featured in this series on Facebook and YouTube. All genres are welcome.

Healing Dance: April Sessions
Join us for another Virtual Healing Dance Workshop led by renowned artist Munni Subhani! This 30-minute session will leave you energized for the rest of your day.

Algorithm in the Arts
Have you ever wanted to create art with code? Join these free workshops to learn how! Co-hosted by successful Canadian artists, students will be introduced to the basics of algorithmic art through simple coding exercises.

Each workshop will feature a guest artist talk by a Canadian artist who will discuss AI, algorithmic intervention, data, and media in their art practice.

This workshop is designed for teenagers aged 13-17 years old. Previous coding experience is not required but is an asset.
