Greetings!

Happy Women’s History Month! As we honor the extraordinary achievements of women past and present, we at Center for Domestic Peace (C4DP) reflect on both the progress made and the work that remains. Our organization is rooted in the women’s movement, born from activism, resilience, and a bold vision of a world free from violence.

For decades, we have stood alongside survivors, advocating for safety, justice, and equality. Yet many of the hard-won protections and resources secured through tireless advocacy are facing renewed challenges. The struggles of the past echo in the present, reminding us that progress must be protected and advanced.

This moment calls for renewed commitment. As we celebrate the victories that brought us here, we also recommit to the ongoing work ahead - expanding comprehensive support for survivors, raising awareness about domestic violence, and championing policies that safeguard the rights and dignity of women and families.

That’s why your partnership matters now more than ever. We invite you to join us for our special event, In Celebration of Mothers, featuring Reyna Grande - an extraordinary voice whose storytelling reflects courage, resilience, and the enduring strength of family.

As our community continues to navigate uncertainty, including concerns about increased ICE presence, we draw inspiration from the advocates who paved the way before us. Their courage fuels our determination to ensure that every person - regardless of background - can live free from fear.

Together, we can honor the legacy of the women’s movement not only by remembering it, but by strengthening it. United in solidarity, we will continue building a future where every individual is valued, respected, and safe.

Thank you for standing with us. We look forward to celebrating with you and continuing this vital work together.

With gratitude,

In Celebration of Mothers

Friday, May 8, 2026

11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Peacock Gap Clubhouse

In Celebration of Mothers: Rooted in Strength. Rising in Hope.

Now more than ever, our community needs a space to unite, celebrate, and stand for freedom, peace, and safety for women and girls. This is more than a luncheon- it’s a movement of hope, resilience, and love. Together, we can create a future where every mother, every family, and every survivor thrives.

This is Center for Domestic Peace’s signature gathering - a heartfelt afternoon honoring the mothers who gave us life and all those who nurture hope, equality, and justice in Marin. This uplifting event brings together people who believe in the power of community to heal and transform lives. Enjoy a vibrant silent auction, savor a delicious lunch, and most importantly, make a direct impact on programs that help families break free from violence and rebuild their lives.

We are honored to welcome Reyna Grande, an award-winning author and nationally recognized social justice leader. Reyna’s voice is a beacon of courage and truth, illuminating the realities of migration, resilience, and the unbreakable strength of family. Her memoirs, The Distance Between Us and A Dream Called Home, have touched millions, and her forthcoming book, Migrant Heart, promises to inspire even more. Her story is not just about survival - it’s about hope, belonging, and the power of community.

When Reyna speaks, hearts open, and change feels possible. Get your tickets today!

In Memoriam: Rachell Dorris

We honor the life and legacy of Rachell Dorris, a devoted and long-time board member, cherished luncheon table captain, generous donor, and beloved member of the Sausalito Floating Home community. Rachell’s steadfast commitment to Center for Domestic Peace was evident in every role she embraced. She led with compassion, integrity, and a deep belief in a future free from violence.

As a board member, Rachell offered thoughtful leadership and unwavering advocacy for survivors and their families. As a luncheon table captain, she brought people together with warmth and enthusiasm - introducing new friends to our mission and inspiring others to give generously. Her philanthropy helped ensure that critical services remained accessible to those seeking safety, healing, and hope.

Beyond her service to our organization, Rachell was a valued presence in the Sausalito Floating Home community, where she was known for her kindness, vibrant spirit, and love of cooking.

Rachell’s legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the community she nurtured, and the strong foundation she helped build. We are profoundly grateful for her years of leadership, generosity, and heart. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
