Clocks fall back......

While autumn started more than three weeks ago, and we have enjoyed three-plus weeks of additional Daylight Saving Time the end is nigh. Clocks get turned back an hour Sunday, Nov. 7, 2021. Don't forget to check batteries in your smoke alarms and CO2 detectors. Its a good reminder twice a year.
ARMA Q3 Report Shows Double-Digit Declines in Asphalt Product Shipments
Shipments of asphalt roofing products are down in the third quarter of 2021, a painful reminder that the industry’s supply shortage crisis is far from over.
The latest Quarterly Product Shipment Report from the Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) indicates that shipments in all products the report tracks — shingles, modified bitumen and BUR base, ply and mineral cap sheets — all saw drops when compared to the second quarter of 2021.

In less than one month, two employees have publicly resigned from Salesforce, citing discrimination and a culture of microaggressions at the company. 
Vivianne Castillo, a former manager in the firm's design research and innovation unit, published her resignation letter on LinkedIn last week, writing that she endured "rampant microaggressions" as a Black woman. The letter comes weeks after a former Salesforce senior manager, Cynthia Perry, also publicly announced her departure from the company. 


Metal panel roof systems fall into two main categories, structural and architectural, which require different components and slopes, writes Kurt Fester, project engineer at the National Roofing Contractors Association. Fester also describes the difference between metal roof shingles and panels and the different code requirements for various kinds of metal panel roof systems.
