Virtual Community Meeting

Dear Valued Community Members,
You are invited to join us as we undertake the next update to the City's Housing Element, a component of the Envision 2040 General Plan that is the blueprint for growth in San José. Your voice — along with the voices of your neighbors, our workforce, and our young people — are critical to shaping the future of housing in our city.
State law requires that housing elements of cities be updated every eight years and that they include a Fair Housing Plan. For this next update, we will identify our City’s housing needs and opportunities and establishes clear goals to inform future housing decisions. This meeting is only the first of several opportunities through 2022 to engage on how we update the Housing Element.
The September 2 community meeting is in collaboration with Let's Talk Housing, a collaborative of all cities and town in Santa Clara County, working together to educate communities on the process for housing elements.
Spanish and Vietnamese language interpretation will be available.
