First Sunday of Lent
March 6, 2022

What should I do to make Lent 2022 different? That was a question asked of me several days ago. It made me pause and reflect. Really, how can we make this year’s Lenten observance different? Read More...

Latest Mask Update

Beginning March 2nd, the County of Santa Clara lifted the indoor mask mandate for all, regardless of vaccination status. However, it is still strongly recommended that we wear masks in all indoor, public areas.
Second Collection

Next weekend, on March 12-13th, the second collection is for The Black and Indian Mission. These missions exist to help local African American and Native American Communities throughout the United States spread the Good News and respond to real and pressing needs on the ground.

Donations can be dropped into the collection baskets or online here. Please select "Second Collection" and specific options will appear.
Thanks to those who have already responded with a gift to the 2022 Annual Diocesan Appeal. To date, we have pledged $173,792 -- that is 58% toward our goal. There is still plenty of time to respond with a gift - they can be made through our parish office or the Diocesan website. Thank you!
Lenten Prayer Series

Let's do something different for Lent! During the fall communal discernment sessions of our Parish Renewal Initiative, many of you told us: “We want more opportunities to connect with the community, including spirituality and faith formation.” As part of the Initiative, we are providing 2 new sessions below. Sessions begin March 7th and 8th. Sign up today!
Hope-filled Lent:
Praying with the Psalms & Gospels

Together, let us help each other to experience Jesus as our companion and partner. Join us for 45-60 minutes as we make space for prayer and reflection in community with one another. Attend one session or all five.

Join us on Zoom: Monday evenings at
7-8 PM on March 7, 14, 21, 28, & April 4.
Preparing & Sharing Our Hearts

This will be similar to the “Coming Home to Advent” series. You will reap the graces of praying in solitude throughout the week and sharing your prayer experiences with other community members on Tuesday evenings. Choose whatever content you wish to prepare your hearts: the Lenten Black Book, Give Us This Day, and/or the Hallow app. Prepare and share your hearts this Lent!
Stations of the Cross

Every Friday at 7 PM during Lent, join us in the church to pray the Stations of the Cross.
Hallow App

There is no better time to reconnect with or deepen one’s faith than Lent. During this time, we can draw closer to God as we prepare for the joyous celebration of Christ’s resurrection at Easter.

Lent can be an incredibly rewarding time for our faith lives.

A generous donor gave our parish free access until Easter. Check out the app today!
CRS Rice Bowl

Together with over 12,000 Catholic communities across the United States, join us in a transformative Lenten journey with CRS Rice Bowl. Poor nutrition can lead to devastating long-term consequences for individuals, communities and entire countries. Help Catholic Relief Services change lives.

Rice Bowl boxes are available by the front doors of the Church.

We would like to introduce our Catechumen and Candidates:
Catechumens (to receive all Initiation Sacraments at Easter Vigil):
Alyssa Lim, Alexa Serrano-Mendoza, Landon Smith, Heather Cane, Luca Everette, Cole Gray, Sara Springer, Brett Batey
Candidates (to receive Confirmation and First Eucharist):
Randall Smith, Holly Gray, Emily Powell
3sixty and Edge are back in session!

Our next 3sixty gathering will be on Sunday, March 13th after the 6 PM Mass.

The next Edge will be on Wednesday, March 16th at 7 PM.
Confirmation Year 1

Our March capstone session will be on Wednesday, March 9th at 6:30 PM. This will be the final monthly session for the year.

There will be a day retreat offered on Saturday, May 7th. More info to come!
Confirmation Year 2 Retreat

We are pleased to announce the return of retreats. Registrations for the Confirmation Year 2 retreat are now online. An email was sent out earlier in the week for the registration link. For any questions, please contact Row.
Saturdays at Sacred Heart

New dates are posted for Saturdays at Sacred Heart! Volunteers will be sorting and bagging produce, and filling boxes with food items for weekly distribution. Volunteers need to be at least 9 years old to participate, and volunteers between the ages of 9-14 must be accompanied by an adult. This is a great opportunity for families to participate in community service together and earn service hours. Learn more and sign up here.
Texas Mission Trip - Youth Testimony

Hi, my name is Jack Danna, and I am one out of the handful of people that got to go on this year’s mission trip to San Augustine. My group, which was made of nine people, were given the task to build a wheelchair accessibility ramp for Mary and her husband. Helping out Miss Mary and her husband certainly left an impact on them as I could see their gratitude towards us through their actions and in their voice every time we talked with them. Read More...
Last Chance to Register for the Nicaragua 2022 Mission Trip!

We are so excited to have so many missionaries already registered to travel to Nicaragua on behalf of our parish this summer. There has been so much enthusiasm that we’ve decided to leave our registration open a little bit longer.

Registration is now open through Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

The slides from the information meeting are available on the Mission Trip Webpage and so is the registration link. For questions please send an email to
Synod on Synodality

In response to the Pope’s call, we invite you to let your voice be heard. The process is similar to our Parish Renewal Initiative that started last September. The difference is that we are not just reflecting on our parish community, but rather we will be thinking of the Universal Church. Share your thoughts anonymously here.
Seasons of Hope
Starting March 9, Wednesday, at 7 PM

We invite those who have experienced loss of a loved one to join Seasons of Hope. The purpose of this small faith sharing group is to help with the healing process of those who are grieving. This is a 6-week series of faith and gospel-based readings. Please visit this page for more information.
Bethlehem Artworks

Beautiful hand-made olive wood religious articles (rosaries, statues, crosses and nativities) made by Catholic families in Bethlehem and Jerusalem will be on sale March 12th & 13th after all the masses.

Bethlehem Artworks provides assistance to over 100 plus suffering families each week. The population in the Holy Land has dropped from over 20% to under 1%. Crafting the religious articles is the primary means for providing for the livelihood of Christian families in the Holy Land.
Cursillo Retreat
Men's Retreat: March 31st - April 3rd
Women's Retreat: April 28th - May 1st

It’s been a long two years with COVID, and we’ve all been feeling the disconnect from our friends, communities and perhaps our faith. With the pandemic situation improving, why not take a few days to reconnect and recharge by making a Cursillo retreat weekend? Read More...
