Sparkle finds a new home and a best friend!
Sparkle has been a real gem, she's sweet, gorgeous and good to everyone she comes across. We knew someone was going to find her and it would be perfect! Along came Sharon who exudes love and was looking for this lucky charm. At the home visit Sparkle smelled her way around the house, scoped out the backyard and most importantly found her bed and food bowls. A traditional home visit wasn't enough, Sharon wanted to take Sparkle to the dog park where she made friends and was finally in her special place again! We've loved Sparkle, but are thrilled for this new bond!
It was love at first sight for Sharon when she stopped by our Adoption Day. She and Sparkle (now Summer) were instant friends. Sparkle came to us several months ago from a wonderful lady who had rescued one of our pups, Sally back in 2015. Sparkle became Sally's sister when she was rescued from a shelter in Denton. Sally and Sparkle made their way back to Straydog this past November when their mom was diagnosed with cancer and unable to care for the two. As with all Straydog pups, we will always accept our rescues back to ensure they have a forever home. In this unusual and sad case, we took both pups in knowing they were happy together.
We love to keep siblings together, but once they arrived at Straydog, both pups met other playmates and we knew they would be happy and successful separate adoptions. We're thrilled that Sally was adopted over the holidays from our Neiman Marcus adoption day and now Sparkle can start 2018 with Sharon!

Our owner surrendered us to Straydog back in 2015 along with Fritz's mom Jazzie2. Unfortunately, she suffered from heart failure and passed on about a year later. As life would turn out, I was actually living with one of our supporters of Straydog, but her previous rescue and I just couldn't work things out together (this was on him, not me), upon my return to Straydog Fritz and I grew very close. He's a bit timid and takes some time to warm up, we rely on each other. I won't get into the details of how we got here, but I do consider myself very lucky! The people at Straydog take such amazing care of us and let me believe that while I may be a small dog, I sure feel like a big one. Park time is my absolute favorite. I love running and chasing after the ball. We're kept on a great routine here which allows for all the daily necessities: napping, eating, playing and petting. Fritz and I are a package deal, where you'll get the best of both worlds. We're peas in a pod and you can't go wrong! We'd love to meet you.
I'm Ricky, an adorable male Aussie, I made my way to Straydog in 2016. It's been a long journey and a rough past. I struggle with adult men, something that I don't recall must have occurred in my youth. Oddly, I'm fine with the male teenage caregivers and I love all the ladies. The crew at Straydog is working with me and I've slowly started coming around, but please be patient, it'll take some time. Despite this, I really want to be in a loving home with others. I'm a great guy and will make the best friend you've ever dreamed of! In the meantime, I'm living and learning here at Straydog so that I can be even more desirable for a forever home!
Send the team an email and our good friend David will bring us for a visit!
