From our Executive Director
Dear Friends,

As a former classroom teacher, the arrival of August was always a little bittersweet. The nights seem a little cooler, the sun is setting earlier and earlier, and the sound of the katydids and cicadas calling are all reminders that summer’s end is inevitable. But autumn is a new beginning, and we are excited to bring back many of our programs that were cancelled last spring due to COVID. While they may look a little bit different, we have found ways to still be able to engage, educate and enrich our visitors in a safe manner.

Listening to the laughter of our summer campers these past few weeks has been very refreshing and I look forward to seeing more families this fall at programs like Nocturnal Neighbors, the Great American Backyard Campout, and of course, Celebrate Fall (it wouldn’t be fall without our annual visit from the goats!). We are also in the planning stages of a follow-up to our Fall in Love with Trees lecture series and hope to christen the new amphitheater with an outdoor concert.

Be sure to visit our website for details; you don’t want to miss out on the fun!

Looking forward to seeing you soon,
