On December 2, 2020 at 5:45 pm in a regular Church Conference we will present our 2021 ministry budget. For many families, it can be helpful to take time to listen, discern and make a plan for their financial gifts. If you would like to make a pledge for 2021, you can do so at our website (http://www.secondb.org/pledge click here,) paper copies are available outside our office doors, or let us know and we would be glad to mail you one. Pledge cards are not the 11th commandment. You can give a gift to the Lord through our church anytime in person or online (https://www.secondb.org/give/) even if you don't make a pledge in the year prior.
Regardless, I thank you for your gifts, faith and sacrifice of all denominations. Your generosity proclaims the hope of Christ in our church, city and world. There are many reasons we look forward to 2021, and I understand church budgets aren’t always the most exciting of documents. But because of you, I think we might be out of debt in 2021 and able to invest more into the ever expanding grace of God! Thank you.
Peace of Christ to you,
Jake Maxwell, Pastor

More to Come...
Senior adult webinar to provide prequel for 2021 retreat
Senior adults will focus on unlocking the “depth of love that is within you” during Fellowship Southwest’s Second Half of Life webinar Oct. 29, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Central Time.
The free webinar will feature Sherry Bass, a mindfulness meditation teacher and Christian spiritual director, and Andy Stoker, senior minister at First United Methodist Church in Dallas and also a mindfulness meditation teacher.
“There is a depth of love that is within you. Learn ways of unlocking the love so that you can stand with courage, act with faith and pronounce that love in every moment,” Bass and Stoker said. “The second half of life is a journey within to discover ‘The One Who Knows’ through a Way of the Heart, a mindful contemplation method.”
The Oct. 29 webinar replaces Fellowship Southwest’s inaugural three-day senior adult retreat, originally scheduled for this fall. Due to COVID-19, that event has been rescheduled for Oct. 27-29, 2021. Then, Bass and Stoker will expand upon the theme they will present in the webinar this fall.
