Small Measures Work

A neighbor just happened to notice water streaming from a house nearby. He quickly acted and turned off the water at the outside valve. Then, a call was placed to VM III's

Neighborhood Watch team and additional help was rendered. Because the away homeowners had taken advantage of VM III's "Trusted Neighbor Key" program a key was secured and entry was made to assess the situation.

Unfortunately, the away homeowners were unable to be reached. But again, help was provided by VM III's Neighborhood Watch block captain and the resident who was entrusted with the key. They both reached out to the emergency contact persons.

These efforts helped contain the damage and secure the support of a service company to manage the problem. The support given was only possible because the owners had taken the time to share their key with a neighbor and provide VM III's board of directors with the name and number of who to call in the event of an emergency. These are small measures. But they work.

If you haven't already shared a key or need to provide or update your emergency contact information, please consider doing so. You can use the "Send VM III an Email" link at the bottom of this blast to share those details or ask the board a question.
