Goodbye Winter. Hello Spring.
Spring is in our step and we’re seeing green.
It’s typical that New Year’s Eve brings resolutions and planning for the year ahead, but when the hustle and bustle of the holidays is over, we realize we didn’t keep all of our resolutions. This seems to be a recurring theme.
Then, before we know it, spring is here…and although it brings a mix of weather conditions, it can also bring a breath of fresh air and some renewed energy for the rest of the year.
As an avid sports fan, Major League Baseball and The Masters Golf Tournament remind me that winter is behind us. In baseball, it’s a 162-game grind through the hot summer months—most definitely a marathon and not a sprint. On opening day, fans get to see what their teams look like on the field and expectations are set.
Golf is similar but the schedule is not as grueling. Players can choose their tournaments. The build-up to The Masters is what makes it so unique. It transcends the traditional golf game…with millions around the world tuning in…many of whom will not watch another golf event all year. There is something magical about the Augusta National course and the tournament itself. Its traditions are unmatched, but it’s not stale and stodgy. It’s fun and exciting, while still preserving its traditions. In fact, the CBS slogan made famous by Jim Nantz, is “A tradition unlike any other.”
Similarly, for me and maybe for you, too, the timing is the same in terms of business. While we do have a few events from January through March, our busy time really takes off in May and goes through October. We’re on planes, trains and buses, and in automobiles…so frequently…so that we can have in-person time together. And in 2021 especially, I’m going to assume we’re all looking forward to it. I know I am.
I’m hopeful this year treats all of us well, and early indicators about the economy are certainly pointing in the right direction. At Forwarders List, we are preparing for and gearing up for getting back to some normalcy. As a service-oriented business, our goal is to meet and exceed expectations and to continuously forge meaningful relationships with our clients.
