Let's Talk About May!
United Way of Lincoln County has been busy! From May 1 through May 30, there were just under 70 calls made to 211 and many calls made to the office itself. As shown in the graph, most of those calls had to do with housing and utility needs. Beyond connecting individuals and agencies, United Way of LC was also able to attend many community meetings and help with afterschool events for children! We can't wait to see what June will bring!

Summer Olympics of Lincoln County also has two amazing opportunities this summer! With Camp Love and Music Camp, campers 8 years and older have plenty of time for fun! Music Camp will feature Fitz McGill, an artist, producer, and composer, and Camp Love will be fun for all campers! Special Olympics of Lincoln County's director, Celeste Frasier, recently talked about the camps in an interview, linked below, along with the amazing work done by the organization!

Beginning July 1, Lincoln County Coalition Against Domestic Violence (LCCADV), "Amy's House" will offer emergency shelter, crisis hotline/intervention, case management, as well as hospital
accompaniment, also known as a crisis companion, for sexual assault victims in Lincoln County. Survivors as well as referral sources can contact their crisis line 704-736-1224 to have a crisis companion dispatched to the hospital or to obtain screening for shelter or outpatient services. What a great resource coming to Lincoln County!

June's Community Partner Highlight: Lincoln County YMCA
We're so excited to highlight a much beloved partner agency this month! Since 2001, Lincoln County YMCA has been helping children, teens, families, individuals, elderly, and the community as a whole. From daily exercise classes to summer camps and so much more, the Y is an incredible resource for Lincoln County citizens and community members. They are able to change so many people's lives through their focus on improving individual's well-being and strengthening spiritual connections. June's Board Member Highlight:
Ross Bulla
We are excited to highlight Ross Bulla, a board member of United Way of Lincoln County for the last year. With 30 years of managing or consulting on physical and operational security for corporations, major events, and government agencies, he is well versed in many areas of business. He also has owned and sold a trademark enforcement company. Currently, he owns and operates The Treadstone Group, anonymously acquiring intellectual property rights for brand-owner-clients. Passionate about supporting organizations that serve populations that are traditionally underserved or underrepresented, The Treadstone Group have provided over $600,000 in monetary and in-kind donations, and Bulla has raised nearly $500,000 for the Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse and Child Advocacy Center (CAC). Bulla has been a part of many local organizations and has won several awards in the name of community service, and we are more than grateful that he chooses to be on our board, too!
