This Week in Our Galaxy
One author visits in-store tonight, and we prepare for our many outside events
Last week we shared some of our upcoming outside events with you which include the Southern California Writer's Conference in Newport Beach and Women & Words in West LA. This week read details about our next Ladies, Lunch, and Literacy event in Manhattan Beach and Long Beach Comic Con ... both coming up later this month ... for you and our staff!
This week is the perfect week to stop by and see what has just arrived on our shelves (and is available via our website for your eReading pleasure). While a complete list is on our website, some of the titles of particular interest for upcoming author events include Perfidia by James Ellroy; EXO by Steven Gould; and Vampires of Manhattan by Melissa de la Cruz.

 It's a party in celebration of David Bajo's third novel, Mercy 6, on Tuesday, September 9 at 7:00pm. This chilling medical thriller involves four people who all collapse and die at once in a Los Angeles hospital. Dr. Anna Mendenhall suspects it's not a contagion and when outside agencies keep the hospital in lockdown, she realizes it's not fear of exposure but determination to keep her quiet. David's fiction has been translated into ten languages and he currently teaches creative writing at The University of South Carolina.

Ladies, Lunch, and Literacy
 Join us on September 19 when we welcome debut author Julie Lawson Timmer. Her first novel, Five Days Left is an extraordinary novel about love, family, loss, and life.

Long Beach Comic Con
Celebrate Pop Culture in late September!
Fall brings Mysterious Galaxy and thousands of pop culture fans back to Long Beach Comic Con at the Long Beach Convention Center. The annual celebration showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators and creators of all types of pop culture. Long Beach Comic Con offers entertaining and educational programs, guest signings, and meet & greet sessions with celebrities.
Authors participating in the programming and signing in Mysterious Galaxy's exhibitor booth include: Leigh Bardugo, Robin Benway, Cecil Castellucci, Nick Cole, Melissa de la Cruz, Michael Johnston, Margaret Stohl, and Greg Weisman. Dozens more special guests include Mike Mignola, Shannon Denton, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Brian and Kristy Miller, Whilce Portacio, Amy Mebberson, and James Silvani!
Plus Emilio and Maryelizabeth and the MG staff will have a selection of our favorite recent reads onhand!
