In 2017 Mudflat is committed to broadening our community outreach programming. Your support helps us accomplish this goal!

We kicked off the year with programs held at the Mystic Learning Center in Somerville. Workshops were held for 3 groups -- pre-teens, teens, and families -- with a total of 45 participants. We also led a workshop for families with The Welcome Project, an organization providing education and advocacy for new immigrants in Somerville.

Mudflat recently hired Jenny Dworkin as our Community Outreach Director. Jenny has been identifying new partnership organizations and opportunities for Mudflat. We will be kicking off our first program in July with Home Base, a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital program that provides clinical and wellness services for post-9/11 veterans, service members, and their families.

Mudflat has a long history of special programs and outreach as an ongoing commitment to the local community and to enhance and encourage the vital, creative development of ceramic arts in the greater Boston area. Recent programs include weekly classes for Somerville Full Circle High School students, afterschool clay classes at Somerville Community School programs, field trips for Girl Scout troops, preschool and kindergarten workshops, and classes at Somerville and Cambridge senior centers.
