Darlene is an integral part of our team, always working diligently behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of daily operations. Her attention to detail, positive attitude, and exceptional communication skills make her an invaluable asset to the Kissimmee Gateway Airport. We appreciate the commitment, enthusiasm, and hard work Darlene has brought to her role over the past decade and look forward to many more years of working together. 🎉Kissimmee Airport Air Traffic Controller Wins

Andy Pitas Aircraft Save Award 🎉

Congratulations to Ms. Nancy D’Angelo, Air Traffic Control Specialist at Kissimmee Gateway Airport for being selected as the recipient of the 2023 Andy Pitas Aircraft Save Award! Nancy provided exceptional air traffic service that resulted in the safe recovery of an emergency aircraft after a bird strike at Kissimmee Airport in September 2022. Her exceptional service has not gone unnoticed and will be recognized at the annual ATCA Convention on November 2, 2023, in Washington D.C. Thank you for your outstanding service, Nancy! Your dedication to ensuring the safety of all aircraft and passengers is truly inspiring. We wish you continued success in your career and look forward to seeing all the amazing things you will achieve in the future.

Prepare for takeoff as we introduce you to our new Operations Coordinator, John Behrendt! John is a United States Air Force veteran with experience in airport operations across the country. He holds an Airport Certified Employee Certification in Airfield Operations and is a Certified American Association of Airport Executives member. His years of experience in the field and multiple certifications are just a few of the fantastic qualities he brings to the Airport Operations Team here at ISM. We are very lucky to have you on board, John, and we are truly grateful for your service!
