On Monday, December 5, Kissimmee Gateway Airport hosted 150 sixth and seventh grade students from Imagine Kissimmee Charter Academy. This hands-on tour of the airport was designed to expose students to aviation careers and educate them on the many pathways out there to help them achieve success.
The students toured many businesses at the airport to learn about different aspects of aviation and how it impacts everyday lives. Students visited Cirrus Aircraft to learn about aircraft sales and pilots, Air Methods to learn about becoming a flight nurse or flight paramedic, the Osceola County Sheriff's Office Law Enforcement Aviation Department to learn about the role of aviation in law enforcement, and the airport's Air Traffic Control Tower to learn more about becoming an air traffic controller. Thank you to everyone who helped put this fun, informative tour together for the students!
