Kissimmee Airport Hosts More Than

100 Students and Their Parents on June 28

We had a blast on June 28 hosting more than 100 Osceola County Homeschool students and their parents at Kissimmee Gateway Airport! Our friends from Cirrus Aircraft, Air Methods, and Integrity Aviation Services joined us to give these young aviation enthusiasts a firsthand look at different aircraft and helicopter models, as well as the many educational and career opportunities available at our airport. The students got up close to the cockpit and engine compartments of various planes, and our airport staff was on hand to answer any and all questions. We love being able to share our passion for aviation with the next generation, and it was so rewarding to see these young people engage with the world of flight!

Kissimmee Airport Hosts

City School of Government Participants

Wednesday, June 7 was an exciting day at our airport as we had the pleasure of hosting members of the City of Kissimmee School of Government Program! It's always amazing to see residents taking an active interest in their City government. Through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and tours, participants get an inside look into the various departments and operations that keep our beautiful City running smoothly. Since 2000, more than 200 residents have graduated from this program and some have even taken up positions on the City's advisory boards and volunteer committees. We are proud to be part of such an initiative that fosters engagement and involvement in the community. Congratulations to all the graduates, and we look forward to seeing more people get involved in this amazing program in the future!

Intern Spotlight

Eran Ber

At the Kissimmee Gateway Airport, we are grateful to be selected by the Florida Airports Council (FAC) for an internship grant that is sponsored by the Florida Department of Transportation to provide an internship opportunity to a student attending one of the FAC Member Institutions in the State of Florida. We were pleased to host Eran Ber during an airport job shadow event with other students from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) and that initial experience and desire to work on an airfield intrigued him to apply for the internship position that was available at that time. Eran is international student from Israel and he is in the final year of ERAU’s Masters of Business Administration in Aviation Management program with an expected graduation in December 2023. Aviation became a fascination in his young teen years when he used to ride his bike to the approach end of the runway at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel to watch aircraft arriving and departing.
