Help answer key questions around HOW the Town

should be involved in housing:

  • To what extent do you think the Town should be directly involved in the development of new housing? What are the trade-offs?
  • Are there certain types of direct housing involvement from the Town that you would support? Is that support conditional on any other factors (e.g. location, building type, etc.)?
  • Are there certain types of direct housing involvement from the Town that you do NOT support?
  • Are there examples of housing developments led by not-for-profit societies or government that you think could work well in Qualicum Beach?

Why is the OCP Important?

The Official Community Plan, or “OCP” is the overarching plan for the Town’s future with goals, objectives, and policies specifically related to land use. With a projected demand of 2,435 new housing units in Qualicum Beach over the next 20 years, the Town’s 2025 OCP Review will focus on housing to comply with new Provincial housing regulations.
