Over the past two months, residents have been invited to share their thoughts on the future of housing in our community. Through open houses, guided discussions, pop-up events, and online surveys, the Town gathered valuable input for the 2025 Official Community Plan (OCP) Review.

This Review supports efforts to align with new provincial housing regulations and to plan for future growth in Qualicum Beach.

We’re now wrapping up this phase of engagement with a Summary Open House. Join us to learn what we heard from the community and find out about the next steps in planning for housing in Qualicum Beach.

Why is the OCP Important?

The Official Community Plan, or “OCP” is the overarching plan for the Town’s future with goals, objectives, and policies specifically related to land use. With a projected demand of 2,435 new housing units in Qualicum Beach over the next 20 years, the Town’s 2025 OCP Review will focus on housing to comply with new Provincial housing regulations.
