May is Mental Health Month, a time to create awareness and reach out about mental health issues and stigma. Mental health affects our whole life and everything we do. So let's talk.
1 in 5 Coloradoans (and people across of the nation, for that matter) experience a mental health disorder each year. Mental health issues are more common than we often think, and are treatable. Literally millions of people experience a mental health issue and have found that through treatment and support, they can live valuable, meaningful, productive lives. Unfortunately there still is a stigma that hangs on keeping many people from even wanting to mention mental illness. So let's talk more.
That's why we are launching mental health month with our reminder
-"Reach Out for Mental Health." If you're struggling, we'll tell you where you can reach out to find help. If you have a friend, co-worker, acquaintance, or family member who is, we'll be letting you know all this month how you can reach out to them.
