Welcome to the month of November!
It is shaping up to be a beautiful fall. Commit to spending as much family time as possible outdoors. Many families will celebrate Thanksgiving this year. Look at your guest list and think about someone who traditionally does not come but who might really appreciate an invitation. Please see the list of food pantries in our resource list and consider donating goods and/or your time to one. World Communications Week is observed the first week of November. It is a week designated to the recognition of the importance of communicating well with each other. Please see this month’s Guide on language development in children. Most of us know of a child who has experienced speech challenges and the PowerPoint done by one of Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute’s predoctoral students, Sadaf Salehi, provides information on what language development looks like and how we as parents/caregivers can support it.
