We would all agree that worshipping and fellowshipping together is an essential part of our walk with God. Yet in this age of social distancing we have been unable to gather together for worship like we used to. Thankfully we can still worship together virtually and experience some connection online, but there is still part of us that longs for embodied relationships. We long to see one another face-to-face, to fellowship, to talk about the Scriptures, and to “bear one another’s burdens”.

While in-person worship is not possible on a large scale yet, gathering in small numbers can be an option for those who are willing to start an FMC Watch Party in their homes. A Watch Party is a small, in-person gathering with a few friends (max 10 people) to connect and watch one of the online worship services together. To be part of a Watch Party all you have to do is follow these 3 simple steps: 1) VOLUNTEER to host at your home, 2) INVITE a few friends, and 3) GATHER together to watch the worship service together!

Sermon discussion questions will be available each week on our Watch Party webpage for you to discuss as a group following the service. If you want to be part of a Watch Party but are unsure how to get connected, feel free to network on our Facebook Connection Hub to let people know you are interested in joining or hosting a Watch Party. And if you do meet together, please be sure to follow the health guidelines that we have all been taught. If gathering in person is not something you are able to do or are comfortable with at this point, you can always host a virtual meeting with a few friends and use the sermon discussion questions provided.

I believe Watch Parties are a great way to fulfill the need we have to connect and worship together in a safe environment as we await the day until we can all join together as one. I hope you will consider starting one!
