The Summer is Here! Let's Celebrate!
It’s P R I D E month! Time to celebrate being uniquely you! Did you know, that Pride Month is celebrated each year to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan? It is also important to note, especially with focus being called upon social and racial injustices right now, that the revolutionary riots at Stonewall in 1969 were spearheaded by many L G B T Q + people of color!

P R I D E is being celebrated very differently this year, as social and safety guidelines are still in effect all over the county. The Human Rights Campaign is promoting Pride Inside , with great resources to celebrate at home. And in Casper, Wyoming, Casper Pride has gone virtual with several events and will be hosting a Drive- Up Pride June 13 th where people can decorate their cars and celebrate Pride safely!

What are you doing this summer to celebrate?
Together We Stand
The Wyoming Health Council and its Title X subrecipients strive for cultural humility within our clinics. Cultural humility means we respect your culture and treat all of our patients with respect and dignity. Title X services are provided for all who request them, honoring client diversity. It is no secret that social injustices impact our health care systems. Title X clinics see this daily, as they often work directly with women, men and teens with low incomes or who may not have health insurance. Over the past few months of the pandemic, the medical world has witnessed disproportionate numbers of communities and people of color affected by COVID-19 and attempts to limit access to family planning resources for those who need access to them. The Wyoming Health council wants you all to know that we stand united in our efforts to ensure safe and healthy choices for all people of color and culture . We advocate for people of color, we advocate for a more inclusive health care system, we advocate for reproductive and family planning rights.

Here's to You Dad!
June is Men's Health Month and Fathers Day on June 21st!

"Title X clinics provide education and counseling, condoms, STD testing and treatment, HIV testing and, in some cases, vasectomy services to males. Research shows that young men recognize unintended pregnancy, STDs and HIV/AIDS as serious problems and acknowledge that prevention is a joint responsibility. Experience has also shown that drawing males into family planning and reproductive health information and services programs requires approaches that focus on their unique needs. Males, as well as females, need to be offered services in culturally competent ways and in ways that serve the total individual."
~HHS.gov, Title X Male Services

Let's encourage the men in our lives to take care of their health and be involved with Family Planning!
