NCCR News
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Greetings Friends,

This month we want to bring special attention and awareness to the topic of Domestic Violence, which is a passionate area of expertise among our clinical team. Did you know: 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men are victims of physical violence by intimate partners within their lifetime? With over 10 million men and women being physically abused each year in this country, domestic violence is a public health issue.
Many of you have been directly affected by domestic violence, and we would like to shed some light on this dark topic for you. Our organization does not like to name an issue without addressing it; therefore this month, NCCR will be sponsoring Tokens of Care , a North Carolina non-profit which supports victims of domestic violence in local shelters. Tokens of Care will be hosting its annual 5k race to raise awareness and funds for its mission to support domestic violence survivors.
Let's keep connecting and supporting each other folks because healthy, connected people who help each other grow is the recipe for change!

See you on the path of healing,

Kim
