Greetings!

On behalf of the Child Foundation, I want to wish all of you a belated Martin Luther King Jr. Day. MLK’s dedication to justice and serving others has inspired millions for several decades. As he so famously said, “The time is always right to do what is right”, and this is a statement we take to heart at the Child Foundation. We are dedicated to our mission of children remaining in school to learn and to grow, and will continue to stay the course, thanks to the ongoing dedication of our supporters and volunteers. For this reason, we are proud to be a certifying organization with the President’s Volunteer Service Award to recognize the crucial work that our volunteers do.

As January comes to a close, we are looking forward to the start of Spring, and the Iranian New Year (Nowruz) in March. Millions around the world celebrate this auspicious day of new beginnings while events are held around the world to bring in the new season. If there is a gathering or celebration in your area, please keep the Child Foundation in mind, and do not hesitate to contact us to have a representative attend to provide more information about our work. We are also happy to send marketing materials to your city, so that we can continue to support more children as they enter the new Iranian year.

Your support is the reason why we are able to continue our work and do what is right. Visit our website to learn of different ways to support our work., or if you just want to support a child, please visit our waiting list.

Thank you on behalf of us all.

Warm and Safe Classrooms for Sistani Children
We have our wonderful supporters to thank for accepting our call to action and raising essential funds to make sure children in the Sistan and Baluchestan region can remain safe and warm in school during the colder months. Thanks to our generous donors, 200 heaters have been ordered and sent to Sistan and Baluchistan to be installed in classrooms. Our Facebook fundraiser raised over $20,000 in just over a week – this is the power of community!

Local authorities on the ground have informed us that the addition of 40 Conex units to serve as classrooms while crumbling infrastructure is renovated and rebuilt would be extremely valuable. For this reason, our Facebook fundraiser continues , and we appreciate each of you sharing it within your networks.  Click here to donate on our website.

Masoomeh’s mother lost her entire family in the Bam earthquake of 2003 but for an older sister, who was severely injured as a result of the earthquake as well. Masoomeh’s father became very abusive towards her and her mother and developed a drug addiction. Masoomeh’s mother finally divorced her father and took full custody of her daughter. The abuse and consequent family altercations severely affected Masoomeh’s wellbeing. Masoomeh’s mother now works in a date harvesting plant, but her salary does not cover their basic living expenses. Since Masoomeh’s mother is so young, she is also not eligible for a number of charitable stipends. Due to the family’s situation, Masoomeh needs your support to continue her education.
