Levitt Fans,
Winter is fading and beautiful warm weather awaits us, along with the sights and sounds of live music and vibrant community celebrations happening at the Levitt.
It simply wouldn’t be spring in Arlington without the launch of a new Levitt season— and the Levitt wouldn't be the Levitt without YOU. I want to elaborate on that idea, but before I do, let's take a quick look at what's in store for Levitt fans in 2024:
This season, we're excited to unveil our new Friday Night Young Artist Series, featuring school-age future stars who will perform two numbers before Levitt Friday concert opening acts. The Young Artist Series is a companion to our Share the Stage initiative, now in its fourth year, which books artists in and around North Texas (including both established artists and up-and-comers) for Levitt concert opening acts.
Before our 2024 free concerts get underway, we're hosting Spring Back for Spring Break (March 12-14), a free movie series on the Levitt lawn screening three family-favorite films celebrating milestone anniversaries this year: Up, Forrest Gump, and The Mummy.
The next pre-concert season event is Total Eclipse of the Park (April 8), a solar eclipse celebration we're co- hosting with the Arlington Parks & Recreation Department. Watch our socials for details, coming soon.
Fast forward to late April and it's finally time for free live music to once again take the stage! We’ll kick things off with the return of DreamFest (April 26-27), a super fun, block party-styled blowout featuring family-friendly games and activities, food trucks, vendors and much more, including headline performances by Memphis Soul (Motown tribute; April 26) and The Tejas Brothers (Tex Mex honky tonk; April 27).
Free concerts continue through the end of May, featuring concerts headlined by Grupo Fantasma (Latin fusion; May 4); Jackie Venson ( blues, soul and pop; May 10); Vandoliers (country rock, Americana; May 11); and Kaitlin Butts (country; May 25) and that’s just to name a few of the wonderful acts on our spring calendar.
After the spring series wraps, Memorial Day weekend arrives and we'll head straight into a lively summer season, where you'll enjoy concerts every weekend in June, plus special events like the Arlington Juneteenth Celebration (June 15th) and Light Up Arlington, the City of Arlington's annual Independence Day bash. We'll take a rest in July and August, then the music returns Labor Day weekend, with plenty of exciting concerts and events lined up for fall, including the return of the National Life Group Do Good Fest Texas (October 12).
Which brings me back to you. When I think of the Levitt, I think of something wonderful you can always count on for our Arlington community, the North Texas community, and the arts community across Texas. No matter what's going on in the world or what challenges we face, the Levitt keeps putting artists on the stage, keeps bringing visitors and economic benefit to Arlington, and keeps the music playing.
When you support the Levitt experience—by attending our concerts and events, by telling someone about the Levitt, by sharing our content on social media, or by making a donation—you're supporting a special experience that can't easily be found anywhere else in North Texas. You're supporting art and music. You're supporting community.
Thank you for being the best part of the Levitt village. We'll see you soon on the lawn!
