Strum and Drawing
Graphic novelist James Sturm, the co-founder of the Center for Cartoon Studies, spoke on "Adventures in Cartooning" at the Norwich Bookstore, and JAM was there. He talked about his adaptation of the classic novel "Watership Down" and why he draws comics. "One of the reasons is to feel I have agency in a world that feels like there's a fire hose coming at you," he said. "It allows you to slow things down."

WRIF 2023 Rewind
WRIF 2023 showed RACIST TREES, a documentary about racial tensions in a historically Black Palm Springs neighborhood. The film's post-screening panel brought together Upper Valley fair housing advocates Andrew Winter (Twin Pines), Laura Di Piazza, and Conicia Jackson in a discussion moderated by JAM board member Joe Major on the impact of government housing practices, their legacy of racial discrimination, their impact on the civic spaces we share today, and actionable paths towards designing inclusive, equitable communities.
