I'd also like to remind you about the 2020 Census. Did you know that the number of hospitals, schools, parks, and so much more is influenced by the population information gathered from the census numbers? It doesn't stop there. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that provides a free and appropriate public education, Medicaid, and Social Security are just a few of the many ways that people experiencing disability depend on federal funding, which is also determined by the Census. Your information is confidential; plan to respond to the Census online, by mail, or by phone by April 1, 2020. It may feel like a ways off, but your participation directly impacts your local community, and the larger disability community across Oregon. You can learn more information about the 2020 Census at
