Hello FACT Families,

Happy New Year! Where will 2020 take you? They say every journey begins with a single step. I would add that before that first step, you need a vision for where you want to go. January is a great time to start thinking about building a vision for your child's future. It’s never too early to begin dreaming about what the future might look like. If that seems overwhelming, I invite you to join us at a  Regional Learning Summit (Portland is coming up in just a few short weeks!) There is a session on how to create a one-page profile that captures and shares your vision for the future. Going to college is possible for students experiencing disability! Read  a blog post about Portland State University's Career and Community Studies program  and see why it is important to Dream Big Dreams!

Speaking of which, please see our invitation to join us at this year's  Dream Big Dreams  fundraising event on March 5, 2020. Please join us! It's great fun and your support makes it possible for us to support more families.

Here's to 2020!

P.S: One more thing! I'd also like to remind you about the 2020 Census. Did you know that the number of hospitals, schools, parks, and so much more is influenced by the population information gathered from the census numbers? It doesn't stop there. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that provides a free and appropriate public education, Medicaid, and Social Security are just a few of the many ways that people experiencing disability depend on federal funding, which is also determined by the Census. Your information is confidential; plan to respond to the Census online, by mail, or by phone by April 1, 2020. It may feel like a ways off, but your participation directly impacts your local community, and the larger disability community across Oregon. You can learn more information about the 2020 Census at wecountoregon.com .
Give Us a Day...We'll Give You All We've Got!
We know that connecting with the community is an important part of living a whole life, and we are excited to offer opportunities to learn more about local resources and to connect with parents near you!

DONATE  to FACT Oregon today and show families experiencing disability that they are not alone!

We need your help.  In 2018-19, we connected with families through our support line a staggering  9,500 times!  That number continues to climb as families reach out to us for support navigating special education, disability services, transition, behavior support, assistive technology, and whole life planning.

If you value programming that is By Families, For Families, then the time to donate is now.

Make a gift today, and The Collins Foundation will match it! Learn more and take advantage of this special 1:1 match today!
