Pastor Trudy's
Weekend Message
Who couldn’t use a little wisdom from God? I realize more each day how much I need to create space for His wisdom and to pay attention to whether the wisdom guiding my actions is coming from God or from the world. The world’s wisdom leads to hitting the ‘easy’ button over and over again and leads only to more longings. God’s wisdom reveals hard truths; personal and global ones; but when we’ve worked through them, we breathe easier and feel more alive.

God, You invite us to truly live, not just to go through the motions. Help us to create space to hear Your wisdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Real questions from real people to learn more about faith
How do I find God’s wisdom when I know I’ve made a mistake? People tell me they love when I tell the story of my mistakes in sermons. And maybe that is part of finding our way back to God’s wisdom…to make it clear that we know we’ve made one. Then we go from there to notice what gets us sidetracked and what helps us to find our way back. Remember, God created us for community—to help us to grow together!
Are you ready to ring? Are you ready to sing? GLC Handbell Choir and Sanctuary Choir are starting in-person rehearsals soon!
—Bells rehearse Mondays @ 7 pm beginning September 20
—Choir rehearses Wednesdays @ 7:45 pm beginning September 29
Please contact Amy Steenson for more information regarding COVID protocols and to reserve your spot! If you're interested in playing handbells, please let Amy know before Monday, September 20.

Proposed Endowment and Constitution
In preparation for our annual meeting, we have created a webpage where you can review the GLC Constitution, By Law changes, and a Continuing Resolution that adopts a GLC Endowment Fund.

These have been approved by the Council and will be voted on at the annual congregational meeting on October 17. After reviewing the postings, please email any questions you might have to Norman Loboda

We have scheduled a zoom forum meeting to answer your questions (it will also be recorded) for Thursday, September 23 @ 7:00 pm.
Thanks to all for a great Rally Day! Meals were packed even when a lack of tomatoes called for plan B. Games were played, we worshipped and, a congregational meeting identified faithful concerns before voting to extend gifts into our community for mission impact. Watch for more news on that impact and the organizations that are such a gift to our community. All of it, the fun, the challenge, the joy— is part of following Jesus into a life of generosity! Thank you, GLC!!
Happy, smiling GLC kiddos!
