Shakeology of the Month
THE VANILLA GRANOLA BAR
It tastes like dessert, but acts like a multivitamin!

Why Shakeology?
We all struggle with food prep and getting all the nutrients we need in life every day. Shakeology solves both of those problems.  It literally fills the gaps in our daily nutrition. We still advocate eating clean, colorful, whole foods for your daily meals. Shakeology is a multivitamin in a meal.

It is quick, convenient and filled with vitamins, minerals, superfoods, probiotics, prebiotics, digestive enzymes, amino acids, antioxidants and protein. It is NOT a diet shake or a quick fix. It is whole food nutrition.

Need Shakeology at home for YOUR family? FREE shaker cup with purchase!

Healthy Living Recipe
by Kelly Lake
Rice Noodle Bowl with Snap Peas
This fresh, fast and easy to assemble noodle bowl is perfect for a weeknight dinner. Best of all, it is delicious hot, cold or room temp.
Ingredients:
-4 oz. rice noodles, dry
-4 oz. cooked protein (pork, chicken, tofu, seitan are great)
-1 onion, chopped into large chunks
-1 TBSP oil
-2 cups of steamed snap peas
-1 TBSP sesame seed oil
-4 TBSP chives, diced
-2 TBSP chopped peanuts
-1 lime, cut for garnish
-1 bunch of cilantro, stems removed

Bring a large pot of water to boil. When it begins to boil, in a very wide pan or wok, place the oil in the wok and heat over high heat. Add the noodles to the pot of water and the onions to the oil in the wok. Steam the snap peas in the microwave for 4 minutes, covered. Stir the noodles frequently to avoid clumping and stir the onions almost constantly to avoid any blackening. When the onions look limp, push them to one side of the wok and add the protein to another side to warm. Turn off the heat and cover. Drain noodles in a colander. Add noodles to the wok, along with the snap peas, and sesame seed oil. Toss together well. Remove 1 serving (about 1 and half cups of noodles and veggies) to a bowl. Add half the protein and garnish with cilantro and lime. Serves two.

January 2019
A look back on 2019. Leaving the decade with a BANG!

To our BAC members:
Thank you for your loyalty.
Thank you for your workouts.
Thank you for being a part of our community. You matter.

To our friends who are thinking about joining or coming back:
We promise you'll fit in.
We promise you'll have a plan.
We promise you'll get results.
Come up and get started.

As we go into our 14th year in business and enter a new decade, here are a few fun facts to celebrate:

1. BAC members completed 85,587 workouts in 2019.
Think about that impact on our community. T hat is less medications, fewer doctor visits, fewer sick days, more energy, less obesity, more happiness, less anxiety, more strength and more joy.

2. We gifted more than 400 BAC rewards to members who competed 100 or 200 workouts in 2019. We gave away embroidered backpacks and jackets.

3.   When you sign up for a BAC membership between January 1-5, you instantly draw a gift from our Treasure Your Health box. It's just a fun way to get rewarded for getting started.

4. We are kicking off our first ever 2020 Challenge in January for just $20, you get a month of support, accountability, fitness, results and prizes.

5. We debuted an all new Urban Box program in 2019, introducing heavy bags to Bay Urban. Our low impact, high reward workouts were loaded with sweat and punches. Get in on the action in 2020.

6. We introduced our monthly 90 minute workouts in 2019, with Box 90, Ride 90, Yoga 90 and Pound 90. We had nearly 300 sign ups and so much fun, challenging ourselves in new ways.

7. Our BAC Body Beauty program is still going strong. We had 471 participants in 2019. Women joined together to get stronger on the inside and out! We spent the year working through a book on happiness, and used the heavy bars to get fit, lean and confident.

8. Our team at BAC is fired up for an amazing 2020. Let's start our new decade with the best health and happiness possible!

TIPS FROM NUTRITION EDUCATOR AMANDA FREELAND
Looking ahead to 2020 is the perfect time to reflect on the things we know we did well throughout the past year, instead of just what we want to change. When it comes to your nutrition, I want you to remember that success doesn't come with any specific diet or recipe. It comes with finding a routine that you enjoy. Success with nutrition happens when you discover a healthy way of eating that you can be consistent with for years to come.
For the new year, I want you to first reflect on what you did well in 2019.
What things did you do, or create better habits with, that you know you can stay consistent with moving forward into 2020? Did you change your portions? Did you increase your veggies? Did you start drinking more water? The things you are proud of are the things you should keep doing and do more of!

To start developing more healthy habits, here are some questions you can ask yourself:
1. What can I do to improve my hydration each day?
2. Would meal planning or food prep help me stay more accountable to my nutrition throughout the week? Where can I fit that in?
3. How many treats am I having each week? Can I keep that number to two or less?
4. Am I being mindful? Do I know what I am eating each day and am I aware of my snacking habits?
5. Can I eat the way I'm eating and live happily without feeling restricted or miserable?
6. Am I eating well at least 80% of the time? Am I eating fruits and vegetables everyday?

As you move into a new year, try not to focus on restriction and dieting. Try to focus on how you can eat in a way that makes you feel fueled, happy and satisfied. Nutrition is your partner along your journey to success, and should be a simple part of life. You will find success when you decide that food is not the enemy and how great it feels to eat well.

TAKE ACTION OVER YOUR NUTRITION:
We offer a 3-pack of personal training for $95. You can mix and match your sessions to include personal training for fitness and/or nutrition coaching with Amanda. Email [email protected] to get started.
