National Gardening Month...

April is National Gardening Month. Are you are planting a garden this summer? Please consider growing a little extra to share. Food pantries and soup kitchens are always in need of fresh produce for their clients.

Celebrating 10 for 10...
The Earth Day Way!

In celebration of our 10th year, we challenge you each month to do 10 of 'something'. Celebrating 10 (years) for 10 (of something).

For the month of April... we challenge you to check out our list of ways to celebrate our earth. Pick 10 things to focus on. You could even print out the page and post it on the fridge. (But promise us you will recycle the paper when you are done!) Earth Day is April 22nd. April is the perfect time to remind ourselves of how we can do our part in taking care of this amazing planet we call home.

National Volunteer Month

April is National Volunteer Month. This month is dedicated to honoring all of the volunteers in our communities as well as encouraging volunteerism throughout the year.

Here at The Giving Tree, we would like to give a heartfelt thanks to each and every one of our amazing volunteers. The Giving Tree could not function without them. We thank each of them from the bottom of our hearts.

This month, take time to thank a volunteer in the community.
Nonprofit Spotlight:

Sam's Hope, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of companion animals by keeping those facing economic and health challenges, and their pets together through pet food and veterinary care assistance programs.
Sam's Hope, f ounded in February 2013, was inspired by the founder's beloved Shih Tzu, Samantha, as well as her awareness of the current economic climate which forces many pet owners to surrender or abandon their pets.

The Giving Tree has provided Sam's Hope with hand-made dog toys and treats over the past couple of years.
