November 2026

Letter from the President by Pilar Page

We're here at last. Everything we've been working for will be decided on Tuesday.

Parents and grandparents: Vote for your children's future.

Christians: Vote for life and religious freedom.

Small business owners: Vote to keep your taxes and regulations low.

Jews: Vote for the party that believes Israel has a right to exist and denounces anti-semitism.

Health advocates: Vote for continued focus on cleaning up our food supply and improving children's health.

Taxpayers: Vote to keep your taxes low - and to make sure your hard-earned dollars aren't wasted through government fraud.

People struggling with affordability: Vote for the only party that can help increase your wages and bring down prices.

North Carolinians: Vote for the conservative candidates whose policies make our state a great place to live.

Americans: Vote to save our country!

Everyone: Pray for a good outcome on Tuesday.

Remember: Conservatives who stay home in this election will decide the outcome. Don't let any conservatives you know stay home.

May God bless America.

Pilar

From our Chaplain by Nancy Manley

A prayer as we prepare for Election Day:

Father, we come to you with humble hearts, praying for this nation - a nation founded on Godly Biblical principles. Forgive us, Lord, for straying so far from those principles.

Lord, we ask that you will bring revival to this nation. And that hearts will be turned back to you. We know that your response to Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:14 still holds true today: "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

As we pray these things, we ask that in this upcoming election you will give us righteous leaders who love you and this country. Stir the hearts of those who love you to get out and vote so that evil will be defeated!

We know that many running on the Democrat side hate you and hate this country and they want to take it down.

Father, we pray that you will not let the evil prevail. We love you, Lord, and we pray this in Jesus’ precious and holy name,

Amen

MRW is hosting an

This is totally informal, so drop in if you can!

Celebrate our veterans at MRW's November Luncheon

You don't want to miss this special event on November 11, Veterans Day.

It's going to be a patriotic and moving event, starting at 12:00 Noon at the PInehurst Country Club.

After a special ceremony to express our gratitude to those who have served and sacrificed for our country, we will welcome Hal Weatherman, President & CEO of the Patriot Foundation, to introduce us to the important things his organization does to help the families of veterans.

Get all the details here

or go directly to the sign-up page here!

Our Club is unique in the way we combine political involvement, community service, patriotic activities, charitable collections, educational programs and social events. That's why we're the largest such Club in North Carolina, and the 5th largest in the country. We are all proud to be members of MRW.

Be part of all this by renewing your membership today!

For more information about WHY you should renew, read this.

Congratulations, Carol Wheeldon!

MRW has named Carol Wheeldon as our honoree for the biennial Tribute to Women sponsored by the North Carolina Federation of Republican Women. She will be inducted into the NCFRW's "Hall of Femme" at an awards dinner on Saturday, November 14. No one deserves this honor more! Be sure to congratulate Carol and thank her for her long-term contributions to conservatives in Moore County and voters throughout North Carolina!

Seeking our next Club Secretary

We are saddened to announce that LouEllen Runyan has resigned her position as Secretary of MRW to take care of family obligations. She has been a valued member of our leadership team, and we will miss her political experience, thoughtful ideas and hard work for MRW, both as Secretary and as our previous Caring for America chair.

We are now in search of a new Secretary, and nominations are open. These are the responsibilities of the office:

The Recording Secretary shall: Keep the minutes of all meetings of the Club and Executive Committee; maintain a current Club membership roster; keep a current inventory of Club property; maintain all Club records and historical items; and perform such other duties as are assigned by the President, the Executive Committee or the Club.

We need you! If you are interested in being part of our Club leadership, please contact Pilar Page.

Buy a wreath to honor an American hero

Once again, MRW is sponsoring Wreaths Across America, where we purchase and lay wreaths on the graves of American veterans.

We will lay wreaths at Seven Lakes Cemetery which are tended to by the Vietnam Veterans Association, Chapter 996. Their wreath goal is 60 wreaths.

Please sponsor a wreath at this cemetery’s Wreaths Across America website: www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/NCSELC.

Once the Seven Lakes Cemetery has reached its 60-wreath goal, we will again sponsor wreaths for the Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery. MRW’s Wreaths Across America sponsorship website is here.

If you have any questions, please contact Mariann Benway or call her at (910) 489-7825.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SPONSORSHIPS!

Thanks to MRW volunteers for beautifying our community!

On October 13, an intrepid crew of MRW volunteers cleaned up along Airport Road as part of the Adopt-A-Highway program.

In the process, they picked up everything from sofa cushions and old real estate signs to old tires and frames. What is WRONG with people?

Anyway, the road looks better thanks to (L to R): Mary Flynn, Peggy Smetana, Lisa Kirchner and Pauline Bruno.

Southern Pines Veterans Day Parade

November 7, 2026

9:30 a.m. - Opening ceremony near Sunrise Theater

10:00 a.m. - Parade

The theme for this year is Support Our Troops, Honor Our Veterans, Strengthen Our Community.

The Moore County GOP will have a float in this wonderful parade! Come out and support all the parade entries, and show your appreciation for all who have served and sacrificed.

Another great event from Speak Up Moore

Scenes from October luncheon

Suzanne Whatley, lovely wife of US Senate candidate Michael Whatley, charmed attendees with her honest portrayal of what it's like to be on the campaign trail.

She and both of Michael's sons are working with the campaign in the final push to win the election. She does not usually get in front of the microphone, so we were delighted to hear her talk about who Michael really is when the cameras and reporters are not there. And we liked what we heard!

Sheriff Ronnie Fields provided a comprehensive update on crime in Moore County - and everything the Sheriff's office has achieved in in the past year to curb it.

Since original speakers Tom McInnis and Neal Jackson were in Raleigh voting to suspend the state fuel tax, Chairman of the Moore County Commissioners Nick Picerno gave us the birds-eye view of everything happening in the County and how conservatives are making a difference in our daily lives.

October's "Goody Basket" of high-end popcorn and chocolate treats was donated by Charles Taylor - many thanks!
