Every season has an end~for a harvest to begin. Embrace the process! – Prophetess Dina Rolle
This picture is a real-time photo of what my kitchen counter looks like as I write this newsletter — and that is only half of it! I’m always sad when summer ends, but when I look at these beauties, I’m so excited for the next step in the process. Tending to our garden is something my husband and I enjoy doing together very much. We both keep very busy lives, but we commit to do this as a team. And we follow through the whole process. We’ll stay up late in the upcoming weeks to make sauce and process and jar it. We’ll develop strategies to yield a better crop for the next season, and then eventually we’ll open a bottle of wine and enjoy that sauce on a pasta. So yes, we embrace the process!
This is a common theme in our yoga practice, embracing the process. You don’t walk into class and start off in Bird of Paradise, a challenging balancing and binding pose. You have to warm up your hips and shoulders and let yourself get used to standing on one leg before you try to balance and hold a bind. As we transition into autumn, our bodies will begin adapting and maybe our practice will shift a bit. Let yourself take time to notice the change and embrace the process!
