The NCFA has introduced Adoption by the Numbers for 2019 and 2020, a comprehensive count of adoptions in the U.S.

With the most up-to-date statistics available, Adoption by the Numbers illustrates how dramatically adoptions declined between 2019 and 2020. Private domestic adoptions declined 24%, intercountry adoptions declined 45%, and adoptions from foster care declined 13%.

Adoption by the Numbers has factsheets for all 50 states plus Washington, DC, so you can see data and charts for local adoptions.
Trauma-Informed & Healing-Centered

Below is the June 2022 newsletter from the OCYF Trauma Team. Learn more about the impacts of trauma and how it effects different areas of the body. And ask these questions, in all your interactions, as we strive for change and healing.
Raising a child with prenatal exposure often changes how we look at our parenting. When you have a child who struggles with the impacts of prenatal exposure, you learn how to shift your mindset and find alternate ways to set your child up for success. The brain damage from prenatal exposure has severe impacts, including challenging behaviors, learning struggles, and emotional effects that can stick with our children for a long time (check out more about this on Creating a Family's free podcast episode). Success for a child with prenatal exposure might have a different feel than for a typically developing child, and that’s okay. Each of our kids deserves to taste their sense of success and feel supported on the way.
Families Home in May!
If you are not in a position to adopt right now, but still feel compelled to help, please know that you can always make a donation directly to Madison Adoption Associates. Your generous gift will be directed where it is needed most, whether that be to provide food and medical services to vulnerable children both domestically and internationally, to support MAA’s growing therapeutic support services for adoptive and foster families, to help ease the financial burden for adoptive families, and/or many other areas where MAA serves deserving children. So please – consider making a tax-deductible donation today, so that children around the world may have a chance for a brighter tomorrow.
