Quick Fundraiser...
The Chamber Foundation recently learned that there are two needs not easily fulfilled by the annual Ready, Set Achieve back-to-school donation drive. Those are SNEAKERS and SPIRIT WEAR for our High School students. As we continue to work as a business community to help our students carve their path after high school, we are learning more and more that these ancillary items, like feeling left out, are heavily contributing to our children not fulfilling their potential in high school and beyond. As we continue to show our students multiple paths to success, we want to try and take away some of these barriers.
How this will work....
  1. Click on the graphic above and choose your donation amount.
  2. The Foundation will split the amount equally among both high schools.
  3. For those donating to SNEAKERS, the students in need will receive a $50 Dick's Sporting Goods gift card + a coupon for $10 off a shoe purchase.
  4. For those donating to SPIRIT WEAR, the schools will distribute certificates among the students in need to purchase logo gear from their school store.
  5. The Chamber Foundation will match our donations, up to $500 for this drive!

This annual tournament raises money for education in TWO ways: (1) the money raised from bowling/sponsorships goes into our Business in Education fund for teacher appreciation breakfasts and summer camp scholarships and (2) the money raised through the raffle raises money for the Chamber Foundation grant program which awards grants to programs that impact a large number of students in our Lakeville area schools.
Opportunity from the Dakota County CDA...
Are you an independent business owner in Dakota County -
·         Feeling overwhelmed with your growing business and struggling to manage?
·         Realizing you can’t do it all and need to build a team?
·         Wanting to develop strategic plans, processes, and organizational structure to achieve sustainable and profitable expansion?
·         No longer needing to chase sales but want to strategically invest time and resources to capture new markets, new industries, or new products?
The Dakota County CDA is seeking to sponsor THREE qualified business CEOs to participate in the 2019/2020 CEO Next Business Institute that will start late October/early November and go through June 2020.

The Dakota County CDA provides scholarships for owners of “second stage” growing businesses to participate in the 2019/2020 CEO Next Business Institute. Over the eight-month program, participants receive:
·         Expertise. Approximately 40 – 50 hours of advanced research from a team of topical experts and research specialists.
·         Peer learning. CEO round tables (8 half-day sessions) provide confidential space where participants can share challenges and experiences with a small cohort of other noncompeting industry CEOs.
Roundtables meet once a month during the program and are led by an experienced facilitator.
·         Forum events. Forums are held monthly with a guest speaker, typically an entrepreneur who has grown their business, who will share successes and struggles while answering audience questions.

CEO Next is a time commitment, and we know time is essential for owners of growing businesses. But we believe time dedicated to the CEO Next program will be worth it for these businesses to learn tools and techniques to continue successfully growing.

What businesses are eligible?
·         For-profit, privately-held businesses
·         10 – 99 employees
·         Annual revenue between $1 Million - $50 Million
·         Ready to transition from small to large – past start-up state but not yet mature
·         Appetite and aptitude for growth
