Here are 2 important websites we are using to get our data from. Please visit for more information.

New This Week
Think Outside!
Think Outside yourself,
Think Outside the box,
Think Outside the church’s 4 walls, and
Think Outside your comfort zone.

Four ways to think and realize what it means to be “blessed to be a blessing?”- Genesis 12:2 Over the next four weeks of October we will explore your blessings and how you can bless others through service to God and one another. God calls us to put our faith into action and we will discover what that means through our annual fall appeal. Putting our faith into action is our call by God and the Church. You have blessings and gifts. How are you sharing them? Not sure? We have four cards that were sent to each home and are to be filled out by every member. If you need more you can download them from the church website https://www.christ-the-king.org/think-outside.html or pick more up at church during the week or when you come to worship.

Come! Think Outside! See how God’s love comes to life!
Let your light shine
Thinking Outside of the Box is our 2021 Stewardship theme. Join us Sunday in person and on-line at 9:15am and find our how you can shine your light.
Parking Lot Worship is back!
We are happy to announce that starting Sunday, Oct 10 at 10:30am, parking lot worship is back. It will be held weekly and include communion and singing each week. We know there are some people who are desiring to be at church but remain cautious of in-person gathering. We hope the addition of this service will be helpful and life giving. More details to be shared in our next Constant Contact newsletter.
Candy Donations

We are taking donations of candy to be donated to local hospital nurses. Please bring your bags of wrapped candy to church by 10/15.

Crop Walk
The members of Christ The King have long been an active part of the Fox Cities CROP Walk For Hunger. For more than 35 years, members have walked, pledged, and prayed to raise funds for the cause of hungry people here at home, and around the world.

The first CROP Walk in the United States was held in 1969. For the gathering of Lutheran youth, the choice of a walk was purposeful—“We Walk Because They Walk.” We Walk to raise funds to help hungry people who must walk each day for their life needs: food, clean water, and education.

The Fox Cities CROP Walk For Hunger is scheduled for October 10th, 2021. This year we will not have a traditional large multi-church CROP Walk in Appleton. So, during the week of October 10th, you can choose your own day, time, and length of walk. Turn off the music please, and think about the people and purpose of this walk.

What are you doing Sunday, October 10th? Would you like a way to visit with friends, make new friends, enjoy the outdoors, get exercise, AND help change the world? Come walk with us in the CROP Hunger Walk to raise funds to fight hunger in our community and around the world. Pastor Nate will be leading this mindfulness walk. Click this link to join our Team and walk to fight hunger or to donate! https://events.crophungerwalk.org/2021/team/christ-the-king-lutheran-church-combined-locks. All donations can be made either online or by dropping them off at CTK but please notate it is for the CROP Walk. The last day to give to this wonderful cause is October 31, 2021.

The way to turn in your funds this year is very easy. Make out a check or electronic payment to Christ The King. On the note line you must print CROP Walk. If donating cash, put it in an envelope with your name and CROP Walk on the envelope.

All funds must be turned in by October 231st. Then, our fantastic Finance Manager, Aubrey, will total up the funds marked CROP Walk and send one check to Church World Service/CROP from our church.  Other churches will be doing the same.

25% of funds raised will be used for Fox Cities hunger relief. This is provided by the Salvation Army and by St. Joseph’s Food Pantry.

You can be a walker, a financial contributor, or a prayer partner. Or, all 3! Thank You, for offering your hands AND feet in this case, to accomplish God’s Work. Questions? Comments? Please contact Paul Girod. 920 766-3538, [email protected]

Fall Work Day
"As part of our exploration of stewardship in action, Christ the King will be offering a fall workday to our members and community on Saturday October 16 from 8 until noon.  This will be a morning of working together to help those who need our hands and hearts to do work that might otherwise might be a struggle for them. We will be raking lawns, cleaning gutters and washing windows (on single story houses).

This is part two of our solicit... We will be looking for people that might need this help as well as many to provide the help. Please contact Jim Weyers at [email protected] with both homeowners needing help as well as your willingness to work. This may well be a great opportunity for families to work together. Children with parents are welcome.

We will need the project houses identified by September 15th to allow for organization of materials and manpower ahead of the actual workday."
Drop off your gently used or new winter coats at any Fox Communities Credit Union locations September 30th- November 1st.

ElderMatch volunteer needed
Many adults aged 60 and older who live alone may not have the opportunity to engage socially within their community. Because of this, loneliness and social isolation may occur, ultimately impacting chronic health conditions. St. Paul Elder Services, in collaboration with Volunteer Fox Cities, pairs local volunteers with older adults who desire greater social connections.
A woman in Shiocton is looking for a female volunteer to visit her once or twice a week for a friendly conversation. She is a former baker and enjoys hunting, fishing, outdoors and making clay figurines. For information on how you can become an ElderMatch volunteer, contact Jan at 920-832-9360 or [email protected]
Join us for A United Day of Hope
For the second year in a row, NAMIWalks Fox Valley will be a little different — while making a lot of difference. While last year's Walk was a fully virtual experience, this year's Walk will be a hybrid event with both in-person* and virtual options. On October 9, you can join us at the Fox Cities Stadium to walk a 5K, walk with friends and family on your own desired route, or spend Walk day honoring mental health "your way".
No matter what you choose to do on Walk day, as you spread the word about mental health and raise funds in the weeks leading up to the Walk, you will make a huge difference in keeping NAMI Fox Valley's mental health programs going and growing for the coming year!
Our collective mental health needs may be at their greatest in living memory. Typically, one in five U.S. adults experiences mental illness in a given year. Since the pandemic began, however, one in three U.S. adults has reported experiencing depression or anxiety. Over this time, NAMI Fox Valley's programs have been incredibly active. Indeed, we have served more support group participants and warm line callers than ever before. Your participation in NAMIWalks 2021 will help us to continue to provide such incredibly important services.
*NOTE: NAMI Fox Valley will closely monitor CDC and local health department COVID-19 guidelines. We will determine and enforce COVID-19 safety measures accordingly. Additionally, if safety necessitates doing so, we may transition the Walk to a fully virtual event.

Remember: United, we insist on Mental Health for All.

Ways to Give
Work Financially Smarter, Not Harder
Mortgage Refinance: We have refinanced our mortgage to take advantage of the great interest rates during this time. Our rate was 4.185% and we are now at 3.25% which is almost a whole percent decrease! We kept the remaining term of 7 years and did not take any cash out. This will save us $615 each month which equates to $7,376 a year or $51,630 over the life of the loan!

We are in the process of switching garbage vendors. Currently GFL Environmental costs us $152.03 each month. We are moving to Orion Waste Services who has quoted us $107.61 a month. Not only will we be saving more, but Orion Waste Services has a great customer service rating, are nationally known, and has dumpsters without wheels to solve our problem of them blowing away!
Giving through ACH
Don't forget another way to give is via ACH! Easily fill out the attached form and either email it to Aubrey at [email protected], drop it off at the church office or mail it in! There are 3 options to choose from: Monthly on the 1st, Monthly on the 15th, or Weekly Friday. Any questions, please reach out to Aubrey!
Hello everyone! We are now accepting giving via Venmo! Please use the link below for another option to give. Our username is ChristTheKing601.
